Organic traditional style seitan suitable for many uses in cooking.

Traditionally produced by washing the starches out of wheat flour to leave the protein before stewing in seaoned soya sauce to add flavour and important amino acids. Has a 'meaty' firm and chewy texture that makes it ideal for recipes that would otherwise require meat.

Wheaty's seitan is made in a round salami style block, stewed in netting, that makes it easy to make slices for sandwiches
Ingredients:
Water, Wholewheat flour*, Wheat Protein*, Shoyu* (soya sauce*), Onions*, Spices*.
* = Certified Organic
Contains soya and traces of celery.


Nutritional Values per 100g:
510 kJ / 120 kcal, Protein 21.2g, Carbohydrates 6.2g, Fat 1.2g.

Preparation:
Can se sliced into thin or thick cuts, or diced before using in recipes calling for alternatives to beef, pork or chicken. Can be browned in a pan with oil before use (VeggieStuff Tip: A non stick pan gives the best result.
