Ingredients: Stage 1: Start by covering your wrap in a thing coat of vegan mayonnaise. It does help to hold everything in place but also adds flavour and moisture. Then smear a teaspoon or two or wholegrain mustard over the mayonniase (depending on ho wmuch you like it!) Stage 2:
Take a Viana Gourmet Veggie Burger and slice into strips. Typically one burger is about right per deli wrap. It is entirely up to you if you want to cook them first, its not necessary (they have already been cooked in their pack) but you could season them or get a more crispy finish. In our example we didn't cook them and they were fine. Lay some lettuce leaves on the mayonnaise and then add some sliced burger pieces and red onion. This is also the stage where you can add amy more mayo, grated carrot, pappers, etc. When you are covering the wrap, place the filling more to one side, leaving one edge empty - this will make rolling much easier, as anything in the outer edge will just fall out! Stage 3:
Roll everything up. Start at the side that has the most filling and roll towards the side that we left with an empty section. You have a few options now. You can cut the roll in half, and then eat immediately. Or for lunchboxes you can wrap the whole thing in foil, clingfilm or paper and eat it by just peeling the wrapping away.
1. Instead of mayonnaise you can always use a sauce like ketchup or brown sauce - or even mix them up. It depends what burger you decide to use - pick something that compliments the burger's flavours. 2. If you would like to serve them warm, try using a panini press - this will also make the rolls stiffen up and stay nicely rolled.
* We do not suggest exact quantities as our 'recipes' are a guide and we like to improvise when we cook. You may make for one or for many people, and you may be prefer to use more of less of each of the ingredients to suit your own taste. The recipe outlined above was how we created our dish, but we encourage you to play a bit and taylor it to your needs :-)
