You may have noticed their absence from the shops in recent months, following the disappearance of some of their frozen lines from freezer cabinets too.
Granose was owned by Haldane Foods which also owned Direct Foods and Realeast. So you will also find Sosmix and Burgamix have disappeared as well as the old time classic vegetarian sausage mix and burger mixes. |  | Haldane Foods (owned by multinational giant Hain Celestial) decided to sell the packet mix brands, but as far as we know still own the Linda McCartney range and it appears they may be keeping the Realeat brand just for the frozen lines.
Symingtons, who bought the dry mix products from Hain Celestial have decided to rationalise the range and bring the remaining products under the century old 'Granose' brand.
The new products are in attractive packaging and beginning to appear in Health Food stores and Supermarkets. |
| But things have not gone perfectly, they have added milk products to lines that were previously vegan, which has upset many customers, especially having seen their favourites disappear from the shelves for so long. For that reason we have hesitated to stock these new Granose meat free sausage mix and other lines until we have properly evelauated them ourselves.
If this change has affected you, there is a petition that you can sign to let them know you would like the milk products taken out. Let them know how much you loved the products how they were and give them encouragement to change the recipes to make them vegan again. We think they have simply mis-judged the customer base that were so loyal to these products and overlooked the obvious fact that vegan products can be eaten by vegetarians too!
