Direct Foods is replaced with new Granose brand!2008 saw the demise of the pioneering Direct Foods brand. Popular products like Sosmix, Burgamix and Sosmix Country Herbs were discontinued following the sale of the Realeat, Granose and Direct Foods brands by their owners Haldane Foods. You may have noticed their absence from the shops from 2008, following the disappearance of some of their Realeat frozen lines from freezer cabinets too. Direct Foods was owned by Haldane Foods which also owned Granose and Realeast. So you will also find Sosmix and Burgamix have disappeared as well as the old time classic nut roast mixes - but fear not, Granose has returned in a different guise! Direct Foods and Realeat mixes change to GranoseHaldane Foods (owned by multinational giant Hain Celestial) decided to sell the packet mix brands, but as far as we know still own the Linda McCartney range and it appears they are keeping the Realeat brand just for the frozen lines. Symingtons, who bought the dry mix products from Haldane Foods have decided to rationalise the range and bring the remaining products under the century old 'Granose' brand. We now have the Granose Sausage Mix, Burger Mix and others that have replaced the Realeat and Direct Foods Sosmix and Banger Mix as well as the Burgamix. R.I.P. Direct Foods - we'll never forget you!!
