Most people these days realise how anti-social the fouling of footpaths and public spaces can be. However, this growth in social consciousness has created a problem of its own - millions of bags of dog waste going into landfills.

'Unlike normal plastic bags that take over 100 years to break down in the soil, 'BioBag Dog' is made from a revolutionary renewable natural plastic made from GM-free corn starch and vegetable oil that breaks down in as little as 40 days.



Plastic bags are an obvious nuisance, but aren't there already alternatives?
Not like BioBags. Other 'degradable' bags are blends of Polyethylene (PE) with additives (including heavy metals) that cause the bag to eventually shatter into smaller and smaller pieces leaving plastic debris in the environment.

BioBags have a number of unique properties that make them ideal for dealing with dog waste:
  • Easy to use, with no tying required.
  • Biodegrades quickly, reducing long term and short term littering effects. Can be treated hygienically in sewage plants with sludge digestion and will biodegrade quickly under these conditions.
  • Leak proof, yet allows moisture evaporation so the contents can dry out; if they are stood on "they won't mess the feet"
  • Allows aerobic biodegradation, preventing the smell that occurs when dog waste "ferments" in a closed plastic bag.
  • Can be digested safely by animals, reducing the risk of accidental death from animals eating plastic waste.
  • Can be stored for up to 2 years ( 'degradable' plastic bags last for only 6 months). The decomposition process is activated by use.
